Concrete Surface Preparation
Customers require certain elements from their floors. Some production spaces need a coated floor creating a complete barrier. With our high production equipment, Ohio Concrete can help prepare the floor to receive a new coating, paint or adhesive. Our 32” machines can remove old coatings and prep the surface for new coatings in one to two steps depending on the customer’s required profile. For thicker coatings over a 1/8”, a single pass from our shaver allows our grinder to get more productive and aggressive. Old glues and adhesives from carpet and tile are not a problem.
The process is dry and chemically free. The use of industrial vacuums keep the dry slurry contained making disposal by Ohio Concrete easy and safe.
Michigan Concrete does concrete grinding and polishing throughout Michigan
Almost any structurally sound concrete floor, whether new or old, can be polished
Because polishing is a multi-step process, customers can choose the level of polished concrete sheen from satin to high-gloss that meets their maintenance and aesthetic requirements. This versatility makes polished concrete an ideal flooring material for a variety of applications. Concrete Polishing customers include:
- Large warehouses and warehouse outlets
- Retail stores throughout Michigan
- Michigan Hotels and restaurants
- Office buildings in Michigan cities
- Michigan Auto showrooms
- Private residences in Michigan
- Pharmaceutical manufacturers
Ease of maintenance is the key reason many Michigan warehouses and retail facilities are opting for polished concrete. Not only are polished floors easy to clean, requiring only occasional damp mopping, they hold up well to heavy forklift and foot traffic. They also eliminate the need for messy waxes or coatings as well as the associated labor, time, and expense to apply them. Once more, the glossy surface resists the marks of forklift truck tires and staining from oil and chemical spills.
Polished Concrete is a long lasting maintenance free finish that can harden the actual surface of your concrete floor, eliminating the need for coatings and sealers.
Want to project a bright, clean, professional image?
The high light reflectivity of polished concrete is an important benefit, especially for office buildings, hotels, restaurants, and other public facilities that require a professional look. Polished concrete floors are low-maintenance, as they are more durable and easier to clean than many flooring options.
Benefits to concrete polishing include:
- Polished concrete reduces lighting needs and improves natural lighting
- Polishing concrete makes old floors look new
- Polished Concrete flooring always meets and often exceeds OSHA standards for floors
- Ordinary cleaning removes blemishes from polished concrete floors
- Concrete polishing transforms porous concrete floors into tightened surfaces keeping fluids out
- Polished concrete floor eliminates dusting entirely
- Polished concrete floor areas can be put into service immediately after the process is complete
