Wall Sawing

Wall saws are used on vertical surfaces when a new doorway, window or new HVAC openings are needed. Wall sawing allows for precise cuts in both concrete and masonry structures. Michigan Concrete frequently saws walls up to 30” thick from one side.

Wall Sawing

Wall sawing employs a diamond blade on a track-mounted system that can be used for vertical and horizontal cuts. This set-up can also be used on steep inclined surfaces where a slab saw cannot be used safely. Wall sawing is typically specified to cut precise openings for doorways, ventilation units, and windows. Specialized applications such as finishing roughed-in walls can also be performed.

Wall sawing can be performed up to 24" deep indoors or outside. Cutting can also be performed from both sides of the wall, giving a total depth of up to 48". The wall sawing unit is highly portable and easily set-up for our trained operators. The applications for this type of sawing are endless.

Typical Applications Include:

  • Straight, smooth finished openings in walls, ceilings, and floors.
  • Accurately sized, fixture ready openings.
  • Bevel cutting.

Wall sawing employs a circular blade on a track-mounted machine. The track is attached to horizontal walls or steep inclines that will not permit the use of flat saws. Wall or track sawing is typically specified to cut precise dimensional door, vent and window openings. It is also an excellent choice for creating precise openings in any concrete structure.

Wall Sawing MichiganHand Sawing

Chain and hand sawing is commonly employed when general wall sawing can't be performed. Hand held units are equipped with diamond blades and chains. Hand sawing provides portable, quick cutting with minimal over-cuts.

Typical Applications Include:

  • Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC openings.
  • Ventilation and air conditioning openings.
  • Small, tightly accessed areas where cutting is needed.

Hand sawing refers to the lighter duty use of diamond blades in hand held power saws and chain type saws. Hand sawing provides portability, speed and accessibility at construction and demolition sites.Typical applications include sawing concrete pipe to length, creating openings for electrical, plumbing or other needs in concrete walls, floors and ceilings, eliminating overcuts associated with other types of sawing, and precision trimmings.
